The following photos of Saturn are from the same negative but printed differently to enhance detail on the disk or the ring stucture. It is virtually impossible to maximize both on the same print with film photography.

The Disk photo shows a bit of contrast in the Southen hemisphere (upper) that is easily seen visually. The Ring photo just shows a hint of, if not the Cassini Division, at least a change in contrast of the ring at that point.

Photo was taken with the 10" at efl = 50ft. Exposure was 2 sec on unhypered Techpan.

This image was taken through the 16" using the video techniques described on the [Video Imaging Page]






This Saturn image was a stack of 5, .1sec exposures
with the MX5C camera through the 16" scope.
